Art Basel HK 2018 top works and booths

Hong Kong is proud to present the celebrated 2018 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong (29-31 March) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). As the only Asia-Pacific centric premier art fair, almost half of the 248 participating galleries come from the Asia-Pacific region, with growing numbers of galleries from India and south-east Asia in addition to 24 local Hong Kong galleries.

There is no doubt an escalating interest for galleries, no matter their place of origin, to show world-class art to the Asian buyers, as Asian sales account for 23% of the global sales in 2017, according to an annual art market report commissioned by Art Basel and UBS. In Hong Kong as an art hub, the optimistic art market outlook is fueled by the opening of H Queen's, aka "vertical gallery street", which is swiftly occupied by heavyweight tenants such as David Zwirner, Hauer & Wirth which just open to coincide with the art fair.

Art Basel Hong Kong is definitely a premium platform to present and access top-notched contemporary art ranging from established household names to emerging experimental artists.  Here's are my top picks as seen in the VIP preview.
